Violet Jellyfish (Thusanostoma thysanura)

Overview

Violet Jellyfish (Thysanostoma thysanura) are found in open sea from Japan to South East Asia. Some individuals near Japan have a bright purple colour on their body and it tend to be more brownish towards South East Sea. Horse mackerel fish are often seen living under their umbrellas. Long-term breeding is difficult, and it is unclear how Ephyra grows and matures.
