The Deep
The Task
We were contracted to create a room-sized Jellyfish exhibit at The Deep. We delivered 4 large display tanks, the largest being over 1,500 Litres. Alongside these displays, we also designed and installed a lab/culturing setup allowing the aquarium to pursue their own jellyfish breeding programs.
The Design
For the large displays, we focussed on creating a system that would hide as much of the plumbing from the public as possible, instead of going for the standard approach of hiding the filtration below the tank hidden by cladding (which in this case would be difficult to access, especially during visiting hours), we decided to route the plumbing through the wall to the other side. This allows us to completely hide the system from the audience while still allowing the animal keepers full and easy access to all the filtration.
